Exotic Wood End-Grain Charcuterie Board with Handle in Layered Patchwork Style
£60.00
Only 1 available
Handmade end-grain charcuterie / serving board with multiple exotic wood species in a layered patchwork design. This larger paddle size can be suitable for larger arrangements, with a solid handle with a hanging / display hole. The board has 2 coats of a hard-wearing and environmentally friendly oil (Rubio Monocoat) and cured for 7 days to ensure a strong and clean finish.
Tip to Tip - (L)42cm x (W)23.5cm x (H)1.5cm
Without handle - (L)33.5cm x (W)23.5cm
This board showcases the beautiful end-grain of multiple exotic hardwoods that are relatively rare to see used in the UK. The light Zebrano wood - obviously named - plays nicely with the almost purple-black African Wenge, both accented with Kiatt and Panga Panga woods. This boards benefits from the "self-healing" properties of end-grain wood which means that although made as a serving board it will stand up to high use very well, and would actually withstand use as a chopping board if you wished to use it as one. This large sized board would be suitable for a range of different charcuterie - either one large display or multiple smaller ones - but would equally be useful as a general serving board. This would be a great addition to any home that likes to host and would also make an excellent gift or housewarming present.
Packaging:
I ship my products in high-security dent resistant packaging, so your purchase should reach you looking fresh from the workshop. All my packaging is either made of 100% recycled material, or is 100% recyclable (or both!).
Aftercare:
Wooden boards need some TLC compared to plastic chopping boards, however with the right care they can last for decades and are much nicer to look at! After use wash gently with warm soapy water and towel dry. Never place the board in the dishwasher, and never leave the board soaking in water for an extended period of time - both of these actions can result in the removal of the protective finishes. This allows water to reach the raw wood, potentially causing staining, warping, and even splitting. Also make sure to avoid the board getting in contact with high heat (such as the bottom of a hot pan) as this can cause scorch marks (a cup of tea would be perfectly fine).
Shipping:
Items are sent via Royal Mail or equivalent carrier. Currently I do not ship internationally and only fulfill orders to the UK, this may change if there is particular interest.
