Handmade solid oak charcuterie / serving board
£28.00
sold out
Handmade solid oak charcuterie board. Compact size either for individual servings or smaller arrangements. The board is finished in a food safe mineral oil bath for 24 hours, then coated with a food safe water repellent bees wax for extra protection.
Tip to tip - (L)30cm x (W)15cm x (H)2.5cm
A simple and modern design helps this board stand out. The handy sized charcuterie board fits nicely in the hand and is soft to the touch with a gentle round over on the edges, with an angular cut to act as a thumb support when carrying. I have added a hole to be used for storage or display. This would be a great addition to any home but particularly to those looking to save space in a full kitchen. Part of my mission with Old Lion Studios is to make furniture that stands the test of time, and the extra strong solid oak paired with my high quality mineral oil and bees wax finish will stand up to even the most busy cooking environments. This piece would make an excellent gift or housewarming present.
Packaging:
I ship my products in high-security dent resistant packaging, so your purchase should reach you looking fresh from the workshop. All my packaging is either made of 100% recycled material, or is 100% recyclable (or both!).
Aftercare:
Wooden boards need some TLC compared to plastic chopping boards, however with the right care they can last for decades and are much nicer to look at! After use wash gently with warm soapy water and towel dry. Never place the board in the dishwasher, and never leave the board soaking in water for an extended period of time - both of these actions can result in the removal of the protective finishes. This allows water to reach the raw wood, potentially causing staining, warping, and even splitting. Also make sure to avoid the board getting in contact with high heat (such as the bottom of a hot pan) as this can cause scorch marks. I highly recommend applying a board oil at least once per year to maintain a high level of protection - it's as easy as rubbing it all over the board, waiting 20 minutes, then rubbing off the excess with a dry cloth. Simple!
Shipping:
Items are sent via Royal Mail first class post or equivalent carrier. Currently I do not ship internationally and only fulfill orders to mainland UK, this may change if there is particular interest.
